Homecoming Day

Harold L. McWhorter

(1) It’s a long winding journey that we have to take,
It’s a life filled with sadness that we have to face;
Loved ones are taken and never replaced,
But praise God, we’re headed for Homecoming Day.
(2) Ears have never heard, and eyes have never seen,
What glory and splendor Heaven can bring;
And to think my precious Mother and Father await,
I get so homesick for Homecoming Day.
(Chorus) Home, Homecoming Day,
Heaven grows sweeter the longer we wait;
Home, Homecoming Day,
Praise God, we’re headed for Homecoming Day.
(Tag) Praise God, we're headed for Homecoming Day.
