The Stone Had Been Rolled Away

Betty S. Jordan - Harold Timmons

(1) When Jesus said, "It is finished," cried from the cross that day,
Through and by His love, death had paved the way;
The earth quaked, the rocks rent, saints were freed on that day,
Now they found that the stone had been rolled away.
(2) It was somewhere in midst of ev‘ning and break of day,
Death had come to life, the Son, gone His way;
The tomb was protected, the soldiers made to stay,
Still they found that the stone had been rolled away.
(Chorus) The place now is empty, the stone rolled away,
Death had been defeated, won vict’ry o’er the grave,
No doubt He had risen, it was resurrection day;
Now they found that the stone had been rolled away.
(Tag) Death had been defeated, won vict’ry over the grave,
For they found that the stone had been rolled away.
